Software Developer at Onics

Now, we’re looking for an experienced Software Developer to help us build robust, scalable systems for our IoT platforms – someone who writes clean, well-structured code, takes pride in good software design, and thrives in a collaborative engineering environment.
Your Role: Build, Improve, and Collaborate
As a Software Developer at Onics, you’ll play a key role in developing and maintaining the core applications that power our IoT solutions. You’ll work closely with colleagues across firmware, hardware, and cloud to ensure seamless system integration – and you’ll contribute your experience and insights to improve how we design, test, and deliver software.
You’ll primarily work with Java in an embedded Linux environment, building high-level applications that interact with devices and cloud infrastructure. Your understanding of software architecture and data flow across the system will help ensure that our solutions are both reliable and elegant.
Your Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, test, and deploy Java applications in an embedded Linux environment
Contribute to software architecture and design discussions with a focus on robustness, maintainability, and performance
Collaborate closely with firmware and cloud engineers to ensure smooth system integration
Build and maintain automated tests, release pipelines, and high-quality assurance workflows
Take ownership of your code and help shape good development practices across the team
Contribute to continuous improvements in methods, tools, and processes
About You
You’re an experienced developer who values solid design and pragmatic solutions. You enjoy tackling complex problems, working across disciplines, and continuously improving both your own code and the way your team builds software.
Your strengths and experience include:
At least 4 years of professional experience in software development
Strong skills in Java or .NET
A solid understanding of software design principles, architecture, and clean code practices
Experience with automated testing, release processes, and managing pipelines
A relevant degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar (BSc or MSc)
Comfortable collaborating across hardware, firmware, and cloud teams
Analytical, structured, and quality-minded – with a passion for building well-crafted software
